We watched the rest of the movie with no interuptions. When it was over, I turned off the TV. I sat up facing Todd. "So, what now?" He asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. My phone rang. I jumped off the bed and grabbed it. I answered it without seeing who it was.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey, it's Alex."
"Hi." I said.
His voice still made me smile.
"I was thinking about you." He said.
I giggled. "What about me?"
"I think you could guess the answer to that question." He said.
"I bet I could." I said.
He laughed. "Do you want to come over? I'm lonely and I miss you." He said.
"Ummm." I said turning around and looking at Todd.
"Please?" He asked.
"I would love to but. . ." I said.
"Please?" He asked again.
"I can't, I'm sorry." I said.
"Oh. Maybe another time." He said.
"Maybe. Talk to you later." I said.
"Bye." He said, and we hung up.
"Who was that?" Todd asked.
"That was Alex." I said.
"Oh. Want me to go?" He asked.
"No, not at all. I was enjoying your company." I said. Todd smiled.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"What did he want?" He asked.
"Just seeing if I wanted to hang out." I said.
"Oh."
"Yeah." I said.
"So, you want to play a game?" He asked.
"Sure. Pick one." I said.
"Jenga?" He asked.
"Sure!" I said smiling.
I got up and walked out to the family room to get it. I grabbed a deck of cards too in case we got bored of Jenga.
I heard a crash in the kitchen and ran in there to see what it was. Christopher had dropped the wine bottle, and it had shattered all over the floor. The bottle wasn't empty though, so red wine was everywhere.
"Busted." I said.
"Shut up." He said frustrated.
Todd and Anna came running out to the kitchen. "Oh no, baby." Anna said. "Let me help you clean it up." She said.
"You better mop it good." I said. Todd and I went back to my bedroom.
"This has been an odd night." Todd said.
"Yeah, it has, hasn't it." I said.
"So, Jenga?" I asked.
"Yes. Oh hey, you have cards?" He asked.
"Yeah. We can play those if you want." I said.
"Doesn't matter." He said.
He pulled a block, and knocked the whole thing over.
"You suck at this." I said, laughing.
"I'm just shakey!" he said.
"Which is why you suck at this!" I said.
"Hey, I'll do it again! This time I'll win!" He said, setting up the blocks.
"I'll go first this time!"
I pulled out a block easily without any other blocks moving.
"Show off." He said.
"Oh please. It's so easy." I said.
He laughed, "Not for Mr. Unsteady hands over here." He said.
"You dork." I said laughing.
"Hey, my hands are steady when they count." He said.
"Oh are they now?" I asked.
"Yes." He said, grinning. I laughed.
"Okay, big shot. Your turn." I told him. He took a deep breath, and started pulling a block out.
He got it out perfectly. I clapped. "Yay!" I said laughing.
"Shut up." He said.
This time the game went on for a while, until he knocked it over.
"That was a good game." He said.
"Yes it was." I said laughing.
"You guys want to go get ice cream with us?" Christopher asked.
"We can do that." Todd said when I looked at him.
"Sure. I can't believe my baby brother wants to be seen in public with me." I said.
"Yeah, well. You aren't bad all the time." He said.
"Thanks. You too. Lets go!" I said, standing up. We all walked out to Christophers car because he insisted on drving.
"Hold on for dear life." I whispered to Todd, as we climbed in the back seat.
